Bottesini Elegy No. 1 in D Major for Solo-Tuned Double Bass and G-D-A-E Plectrum Instrument

$20.00

“Elegy” from the album “Cormorant” by Warren & Flick is a reimagining of Bottesini’s Elegy No. 1 in D Major. The double bass melody remains largely the same as the original, while the accompaniment part has been rewritten for G-D-A-E plectrum instruments such as mandolin, octave mandolin, tenor guitar, tenor banjo, and more! The harmony has also been adapted in places to evoke a more contemporary sound. We have included both tab and standard notation for the plectrum player. Warren & Flick typically performs this arrangement on the unique five-string octave tenor guitar, however, to make this adaptation more broadly accessible, we have included the more common four string version of the accompaniment. Jacob has included his personal bowings and fingerings as well, however, any version of Bottesini Elegy No. 1 in D Major will fit with this accompaniment (the bassist must be tuned in solo-tuning).
